bits of self, at once, in fragments (2021)

Zoom-specific digital media with two performers

This piece was created in part of my residency with the Socially Distant Art residency program for their virtual exhibition, Liminal Beings.

The work revolves around the ambiguity of our existence in the virtual space. This video was documented in an entirely unedited Zoom speaker-view recording as the medium. As the piece progresses, the imitative relation between the two individuals gradually transforms into fragmented expressions of body and voices.  It seeks to realize a liminal space that exists between reality and unreality. A liminal space in the virtual sphere where there is a sense of separation from our corporeal bodies and multiplication of our existence.
